Man Utd 'reach agreement' over first January transfer
Manchester United are reportedly set to extend Harry Amass’ loan spell at Sheffield Wednesday until the end of the 2025-26 season.
The Red Devils academy graduate completed a four-month loan move to Hillsborough on Transfer Deadline Day and he has impressed since his arrival at the Championship side.
Amass has made 11 appearances for Sheffield Wednesday so far this season and he has played the entire 90 minutes in each of their last 10 league matches. He scored his first senior goal during a 3-1 defeat to Southampton on Saturday and he has been included in the England U19 squad for the November international break.
The 18-year-old, who has featured on seven occasions for Man Utd’s first-team, has been linked with a number of Championship clubs following confirmation that Sheffield Wednesday have been handed a 12-point deduction after entering into administration.
However, BBC Sheffield have revealed that Man Utd will not recall Amass in January, with the teenager set to remain at Sheffield Wednesday until the end of the campaign. This has been confirmed by The Mirror, who have revealed that an agreement has been reached for the teenager to stay at Hillsborough.
Man Utd’s January transfer plans revealed
Man Utd are expected to be fairly busy during the upcoming January transfer window and it has been suggested that Ruben Amorim will have a budget of around €125 million to spend on new signings.
The Red Devils are set to prioritise bringing a new central midfielder to the club and they have identified the likes of Elliot Anderson, Carlos Baleba and Adam Wharton as key targets.
Amorim’s side have also been linked with signing a new centre forward following Benjamin Sesko’s knee injury, with Real Madrid wonderkid Endrick reportedly on their radar.
Meanwhile, Kobbie Mainoo and Joshua Zirkzee are both eager to leave Old Trafford amid their lack of game time so far this season, however it’s understood that an exit will be blocked during the winter window.
