New Nottingham Forest signing Nicolo Savona is loving life in the Premier League, and he has now urged his former Juventus teammate Kenan Yildiz to join him in England.

The Turkey international is being heavily associated with a switch to Chelsea, who reportedly made a €70 million bid for him in the summer. The Blues remain keen on signing Yildiz, and they have been given a big boost over the past 24 hours.

On Wednesday, reports in Italy revealed that Juventus' contract talks with the 20-year-old had come to a standstill, which has put Chelsea and his other suitors on red alert.

The Bianconeri had been keen to reward Yildiz's development with another bumper new deal - he has already signed several since joining in 2022 - but the agreement that seemed a foregone conclusion a few weeks ago now appears quite distant.

What's more, Juventus' efforts to fend off the interest from the Premier League won't be helped by the comments now made by their former player Nicolo Savona, who left the Old Lady for Nottingham Forest in the summer.

Savona: Yildiz should come to England

Speaking to Gazzetta dello Sport, the 22-year-old waxed lyrical about the Premier League, describing it as 'even more beautiful' than Serie A, and directly called on Yildiz to join him in England.

“Juventus will always be home for me," Savona began. "Right now, however, I’m focused on Nottingham Forest, where I’m having a wonderful experience. I get along well with my teammates. I’m in the city, and I really like the English atmosphere.

“It [the Premier League] is even more beautiful. There’s a completely different style than in Italy and a special, unique atmosphere. In England, there are less tactics and more intensity.

"It’s a constant back and forth. Anything can happen at any moment. Of course, Serie A remains a challenging and important championship. It’s a great competition, and last season was crucial for my development.”

“I would recommend the Premier League to all the kids who love football," Savona said when asked if Yildiz should make the jump. "It would be difficult to say otherwise to Kenan and any of his teammates.”
