Arsenal present Yildiz offer? Fabrizio Romano offers state of play
Fabrizio Romano has shot down reports that Arsenal are in talks to sign Kenan Yildiz.
CaughtOffside reported last week that Portuguese super agent Jorge Mendes was discussing a mega transfer with Juventus officials that would take Yildiz to the Gunners.
The report was given extra weight by the fact that Juventus have put contract renewal talks on hold with Yildiz after months of negotiations.
But Romano has rubbished all talk of such talks with Arsenal.
Yildiz to Arsenal?
Romano says that reports anyone on behalf of was in Turin to present an offer from Arsenal for Yildiz are untrue.
He says there is no offer and no negotiations, and that Juventus are confident of extending his contract.
Romano does add that there could be a possible assault in 2026 by the Premier League - with Arsenal interested - but it is not true that anything is going on ahead of January.
The Italian reiterates that Juventus are not feeling too much concern about Yildiz as he still has a contract until 2029 but they are keen to give him a salary increase he deserves as he is only on €1.7 million per season.
Romano has stated many times that Chelsea are the club who wants Yildiz most but he says that Juventus still hold a lot of power due to his contract length.
Yildiz has emerged over the last year or so as one of the most exciting young talents in Europe.
The teenager has long been tipped to become a superstar. Juve beat Barcelona to his signature as a 16-year-old in the summer of 2022 when his contract at Bayern Munich expired.
At the time this was considered as a huge coup for a player seen as one of the best in the world at his age group.
Yildiz initially played with Juventus’ Under-19s and Next Gen team in Serie C, but broke into the first team setup midway through 2023-24.
Last season, Yildiz scored 12 goals and made nine assists in all competitions.
This season he has dipped a touch and gone 11 games without scoring or an assist.
Yildiz has already been compared to Juventus legend Alessandro Del Piero, who was his idol as a kid.
Like the 2006 World Cup winner, Yildiz loves to cut in from the left and boasts wonderful control, technique and the ability to beat a man and unleash a shot in on goal.
He even celebrates in the same way as Del Piero did, sticking out his tongue when he scores. The pair have developed something of a bromance together.
Yildiz has been capped 25 times by Tukey, scoring five goals and playing at Euro 2024.
