Saka, who has an Estimated Transfer Value (ETV) just shy of €100 million, is keen to extend his stay with Mikel Arteta’s side and he is expected to become the latest Gunners ace to put pen to paper on a new deal.

The likes of William Saliba, Gabriel Magalhaes and David Raya have all signed new contracts in recent months, and the north London giants are eager to agree deals with Saka, Declan Rice and Jurrien Timber over the next few weeks as they look to retain their most prized assets.

News that Saka is in talks with Arsenal over a new contract has been confirmed by Ornstein, who has revealed to The Athletic that an agreement is expected to be reached “soon.”

The 24-year-old has expressed no desire to leave his boyhood club and although his contract situation may be viewed as a concern by fans, he is set to agree a new deal shortly.

Mikel Arteta provides Bukayo Saka contract update

When asked about Saka’s contract situation ahead of Arsenal’s 4-1 victory over Tottenham Hotspur last Sunday, Arteta told reporters: “Well, what I’m very aware of is that he wants to continue with us.

“He’s very happy that he’s in the place that he wants to continue to be and achieve everything that we want to achieve together. When that happens and how it happens, I leave that to him and the club.”

Arteta was then pressed on whether he is confident that an agreement will be reached.

“I prefer that word. I think it is confidence,” he replied. “What Bukayo has transmitted to me and the club, and Emeka [Obasi, Saka's agent) as well, is that they want to continue to be here.

“It's a very healthy and powerful relationship. The journey that he has had at the club and what he has become is something we want to maintain.

“That is something that is going to leave a legacy at this club and he needs to fulfil that role.”
