Fabrizio Romano Transfer News: Man Utd signing CONFIRMED, Valverde LATEST, Alvarez INTEREST
Football transfer news insider Fabrizio Romano has given the latest updates from the market, with Manchester United making a signing for 2026 while there are developments for Fede Valverde and Julian Alvarez.
Truth behind Fede Valverde’s future
Real Madrid ace Federico Valverde suddenly finds himself the subject of transfer rumours, but Romano says that there’s nothing behind these. Indeed, the Uruguay star is planning a long stay at the Bernabeu.
Romano told his YouTube channel: “Fede Valverde was involved in the press conference before Kairat and was then not involved for a single minute. He recently mentioned that he’s not a big fan of playing at right-back. We know Real Madrid have an emergency there now with Dani Carvajal and Trent Alexander-Arnold injured. Then there was some social media controversy as there were videos posted of him and how he was warming up.
“Fede replied with a very clear statement. It was worth it. This story was getting out of hand.
“There is no problem. If there’s one player who’s ready to fight for Real Madrid, it’s Fede Valverde. He’s shown for years that he’s ready to fight for Real Madrid.
“Real Madrid are very relaxed about this: there is no problem.”
Man Utd complete signing
Manchester United continue to plan for the long term and have snapped up their first signing for 2026, Romano reports.
“Cristian Orozco is coming from Fortaleza. The deal is signed. All documents have been approved,” he says.
“Man Utd will sign the boy in July 2026 when he turns 18. He’s a good player with big potential. United are convinced they have found a gem. It’s about his potential; he’ll have to work hard and improve. But in terms of potential, Man Utd are very happy. The cost of the deal is $1m.
“Everything is agreed with Fortaleza and there’s a green light from the player’s side, so Man Utd will have a new talent in their team.
“Some French and German clubs were interested in him, but when Man Utd made their interest known, the player made it clear he wanted to fulfil his dream of playing at Old Trafford.
“So it’s a here we go.”
What’s happening with Julian Alvarez?
Romano has left the door open for Julian Alvarez to leave Atletico Madrid… but only after the World Cup next summer.
Interest from Chelsea and Arsenal was confirmed, though this was before he joined Atleti. Although top clubs remain interested in the World Cup winner, it’s unclear if he will still be a target for these clubs.
“After the fantastic performances in recent weeks, six goals in the last three games, including a very good performance in the derby against Real Madrid, he’s in very good condition,” Romano confirmed.
“He wanted to clarify the situation – it’s about Barcelona or other clubs in the Premier League. It’s obvious he’s a fantastic player, a top player.
“But he wanted to speak in public to clarify that his focus is on Atletico Madrid. It’s a World Cup season with Argentina. Before that, Alvarez will forget about all the speculation. Then, after the World Cup, if anything happens, will have plenty of time to work out what will happen.
“The position of top clubs around Europe is absolutely normal. There’s always been interest in him: PSG tried to sign him before he went to Real Madrid, Chelsea and Arsenal were interested but Manchester City didn’t want to sell him in England. Now there are the Barcelona rumours.”
