Chelsea fans left puzzled as Enzo Maresca CHANGES agent
Chelsea boss Enzo Maresca has reportedly decided to change his agent, fuelling rumours that he may be searching for an improved contract at Stamford Bridge.
The Italian signed an initial five-year deal following his arrival from Leicester City in 2024, and his existing contract also includes the option to extend his stay in west London for a further 12 months.
However, the Chelsea head coach has now opted to change agency, according to Italian football reporter Nicolo Schira.
The transfer journalist posted on X: “Enzo Maresca has decided to change agent. Jorge Mendes is in pole position to become the new agent of Chelsea’s manager.”
Maresca was previously a client of Wasserman Football, who also represent the likes of Federico Valverde (Real Madrid), Ilya Zabarnyi (Paris Saint-Germain) and Curtis Jones (Liverpool), however he has reportedly opted to leave the agency in search of new representation.
Congratulations to our client Enzo Maresca on his nomination for the Ballon d’Or Men’s Coach of the Year 🏆.
He had an unforgettable season, guiding @ChelseaFC to UEFA Europa Conference League victory during the 2024/25 campaign.

Enzo Maresca to hire Jorge Mendes?
Super agent Mendes is seemingly the leading contender to become Maresca’s new agent and the Chelsea boss would join an elite list of clients if a deal goes through.
Mendes, through his Gestifute agency, currently represents Lamine Yamal, Bernardo Silva, Ruben Dias, Leny Yoro, Vitinha, Bradley Barcola and, most famously, Cristiano Ronaldo.
He is also the agent of managers such as Jose Mourinho, Unai Emery and Nuno Espirito Santo, and Maresca is reportedly set to become his latest high-profile client.
The 45-year-old has enjoyed a hugely successful stint since arriving at Chelsea as Mauricio Pochettino’s replacement last summer, with the Italian guiding the Blues to Club World Cup and Europa Conference League glory during his debut season at Stamford Bridge.
He also helped the club qualify for the Champions League for the first time since the 2022-23 season courtesy of a fourth place finish in the Premier League.
As a result, Maresca’s decision to hire a new agent is likely related to a desire for a new and improved contract at Chelsea, rather than due to a possible departure.
