The agent of Brentford full-back Michael Kayode has revealed that he wants to take his client to a 'top club,' with the player having previously been linked with Arsenal.

The 21-year-old has enjoyed a steep career trajectory over the past two seasons. Kayode broke onto the scene at Fiorentina in 2023/24 and earned a move to the Premier League in January.

Brentford signed him on an initial loan deal before making his stay permanent for 17.5 million in the summer. The Italy U21 international has been an undisputed starter so far in this young campaign, with his long throws proving a dangerous weapon.

Prior to his move to West London, Kayode was repeatedly linked with Arsenal by the Italian press. Had he not joined Brentford, he could perhaps have been an interesting option for the Gunners in the summer, given that they terminated the contract of Takehiro Tomiyasu.

However, a big move to an elite club could yet be on the cards for the highly-rated youngster, and his agent appears to be keen to make it happen as soon as possible.

Kayode good enough for the top level

Speaking to TuttoMercatoWeb, Kayode's agent Andrea Ritorni made no secret of his belief that the right-back can compete at the highest level. "He's doing great and is having an extraordinary run," Ritori said of his client.

"He's now finding his best physical condition, and he's 'cleaning up' his ball control. He arrived in January and made 12 appearances under Thomas Frank, a great coach. Under Keith Andrews, he also immediately got a lot of playing time, starting seven out of seven games.

"In the future, I see him taking another step towards a top club. Not that Brentford isn't one, but I see him going even higher. He's now thrilled with the standing he's enjoying in the English scene.

"He has a world ahead of him if he continues like this. Tactically, he's changed a lot. Against Man City, he was excellent at marking. He needs to improve his first touch. Physically, he has an extraordinary engine."
