Man City target PSG star: Guardiola ‘CONVINCED’ €70m ace can get more from Haaland
Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola is already planning a major January transfer move that he believes would make striker Erling Haaland an even more potent force.
Haaland is coming off an international break in which he hit the headlines by scoring five times for Norway in an 11-1 win over Moldova in a World Cup qualifier, while he has started the season by scoring three in three for Man City.
Guardiola believes that he can get even more from the 25-year-old by adding PSG winger Bradley Barcola to his side, Fichajes reports.
Pep is “convinced” that City need a more reliable winger as the team is overly reliant on Haaland for goals. Barcola is seen as the priority as a result.
The 23-year-old was linked with a possible move to several Premier League sides in the summer, including Liverpool, leading the Champions League winners to line up Rodrygo of Real Madrid as a possible replacement for him.
And that possibility means there is a potential transfer domino in play. Savinho continues to be a player of interest to Tottenham, and if the Brazilian were to leave City, it could open the door for Barcola to make a move to the Etihad.
Pep unlikely to get his Barcola wish
This appears unlikely as things stand, though. The France international winger turned down the possibility of moving to England in the summer and there is little evidence that his stance will change over the next four months.
Barcola is likely to get plenty of game time in the weeks ahead with Ousmane Dembele and Desire Doue both sidelines from PSG’s attack, meaning that Luis Enrique will lean heavily on the former Lyon star.
With the €71.5 million-rated forward also on track to go to the World Cup with Les Bleus next summer, it would take a remarkable offer to tempt him away from the European champions at this juncture of the season.
Barcola will be linked with some big teams in January, but a move appears highly unlikely.

Saliba has always remained committed to Arsenal but the 24-year-old has previously admitted that trophies are the ‘only thing’ preventing him from being considered one of the best defenders in the world.
With Saliba set to star for France at the World Cup next summer, the centre-back may choose to hold off on making a decision of his future until then and also see how Arsenal’s campaign progresses, which may leave the Gunners sweating knowing that Real are ready to pounce on any uncertainty.
