Man Utd rocked as Liverpool 'in pole position' to sign €115m target
Liverpool are reportedly “in pole position” to sign Bayern Munich superstar Michael Olise next summer as they look to land a long-term replacement for Mohamed Salah.
Olise, 23, has been identified as a dream transfer target by the hierarchy at Anfield and they are likely to launch a full-blooded pursuit of his signature during the 2026 summer transfer window, as per multiple reports.
Liverpool already have a stacked forward line that includes Cody Gakpo, Alexander Isak, Hugo Ekitike and, of course, Salah, but the Egypt legend is set to become a free agent in 2027, and the Reds are therefore now preparing for life after the talismanic forward.
They have earmarked Olise as their preferred candidate to succeed Salah and reports have suggested that Liverpool will submit an official bid next summer.
Football Insider have now reported that Bayern have slapped a €115.6 million (£100m) price tag on Olise’s head as they anticipate major interest in his services in 2026.
Real Madrid and Manchester City have also been linked with a big-money move for Olise, but Liverpool are reportedly in pole position to sign him.
The France international has scored 24 goals and provided 24 assists in 60 appearances for Bayern, and while the reigning Bundesliga champions are demanding a fee of €115.6m, his Estimated Transfer Value (ETV) currently stands at just €79m.
Chelsea and Man Utd to miss out on Michael Olise
Although Liverpool are leading the race to sign Olise, the Frenchman was heavily linked with both Chelsea and Manchester United throughout his three-year spell at Crystal Palace.
Chelsea had even agreed a deal in principle to sign Olise last summer, before Bayern hijacked the move and finalised terms with Crystal Palace.
Man Utd, meanwhile, were also close to signing Olise in 2024 and they were widely considered to be the favourites for his signature during the final few weeks of his last season at Selhurst Park.
However, both clubs look set to miss out on Olise yet again next summer.
