Gabriel Jesus: From world's most valuable player to 292nd in just FIVE YEARS
Gabriel Jesus has seen his Estimated Transfer Value (ETV) plummet over the course of his Arsenal career.
So much so that Jesus has gone from the most valuable footballer in the world in our transfer value model to currently the 292nd highest valued player.
Jesus joined Arsenal from Man City for over €50 million in the summer of 2022 as one of the most admired attackers in English football.
He scored an impressive 95 goals in 236 games for Man City, despite not always being a starter or a central striker.
Jesus played an important role in City’s dominance of English football under Pep Guardiola, winning 10 domestic trophies - including four Premier Leagues.
Gabriel Jesus ETV high
Whilst at City, his ETV reached as high as €93.2 million in 2020 on our adjusted model (which at the time was around €130m). This made the Brazilian the most valuable player in the world.
But five years on his value has plummeted and his ETV is currency at an all-time low of €32.3m. This makes Jesus the 292nd most valuable player in the world.
There are a number of reasons for this. For starters, Jesus has seen his performances worsen gradually during his three years and a bit at Arsenal.
He scored 11 Premier League goals in his first season, four in his second and three in his third.
He went from a starter to a bench player, and his standing fell so much that last season manager Mikel Arteta even preferred playing a natural midfielder in Kai Havertz as a false nine rather than starting Jesus.
Additionally, fitness issues have been a growing problem for Jesus and having already had a number of layoffs he ruptured his ACL in January. This ruled him out for most of the rest of 2025.
With his contract running out in 2027 and Jesus now 28, it is no surprise to see Jesus’value continue to drop.
Some fall from grace from where Jesus was just five years ago.
