The Senegal international is expected to depart Stamford Bridge before the window slams shut on 1 September, having been included in the 'Blues' Bomb' squad.

Enzo Maresca has confirmed that everyone involved would be 'happier' if Jackson and teammate Christopher Nkunku were to leave Chelsea before the deadline, and talks with suitors have been taking place for some time.

So far, though, there has not been a breakthrough due to Chelsea making significant financial demands and prioritising permanent moves. This is understandable given the Blues' desire to add Alejandro Garnacho and Xavi Simons, with both not coming cheap.

Several clubs have come forward with an interest in Jackson in recent days, including the likes of Aston Villa and Newcastle. However, it is Bayern Munich who now appear to have taken the first big step towards signing the 24-year-old.

Jackson agrees Bayern terms

According to BILD, Bayern have managed to reach a verbal agreement with Jackson on personal terms. The striker has greenlit the move to Munich, and talks with Chelsea are now in full swing.

However, the Bundesliga side will have to do a lot of convincing to get Chelsea's approval for this transfer. As confirmed by director Max Eberl, Bayern's upper management will only sanction loan deals, which means that their English counterparts will have to soften their stance on Jackson.

Bayern's top target in recent weeks had been Nick Woltemade, but Stuttgart have rejected several bids for the Germany international, which has forced the Bundesliga champions to consider different options.

Talks have also taken place with Chelsea over Nkunku, but Bayern's loan 'mandate' has seen a transfer for the Frenchman become difficult to pull off, hence the pivot to Jackson. It remains to be seen if he can be signed or if Bayern's efforts will yet again be frustrated.
