Garnacho spotted in Chelsea gear as Man Utd agreement 'CLOSE'
An old photograph of Alejandro Garnacho sporting Chelsea gear has resurfaced ahead of his anticipated move from Manchester United to Stamford Bridge.
The Argentina international has been the subject of the most drawn-out saga of the summer. Man Utd head coach Ruben Amorim told Garnacho to find a new club before last season even ended, but he remains on the books at Old Trafford in the final week of the window.
However, this ordeal is finally set to have a positive conclusion, as Man Utd and Chelsea have moved closer to a compromise on a fee for the 21-year-old winger.
Man Utd had initially demanded north of €50 million for Garnacho, while Chelsea were not prepared to go higher than €40m. After fresh talks in the past 24 hours, Fabrizio Romano, Ben Jacobs and Sky Sports all report that an agreement is now close.
The final details of the deal still have to be ironed out, so it is not yet clear how much Chelsea will end up paying for Garnacho, who has already agreed personal terms with Man Utd.
Garnacho spotted in Chelsea gear
Romano reports that it is only 'a matter of time' before Garnacho is officially a Chelsea player amid widespread optimism that this transfer will be finalised before the 1 September deadline.
With the youngster on his way to Stamford Bridge, Blues fans have managed to dig up an old photograph of Garnacho sporting a 2017/18 Chelsea training jacket.
A young Garnacho is pictured with his family in front of a waterfall while wearing an old cyan Nike jacket, with one supporter positing that the Argentine may have been a fan of Eden Hazard growing up.
Whatever the case, it looks as though Garnacho will soon have his very own Chelsea training apparel, with the Blues closing in on one of the biggest transfers of the final week of the window.
