Barcelona sensation ‘seriously considering’ Chelsea’s offer
Fermin Lopez is "seriously considering" leaving Barcelona this summer in order to join Chelsea.
That is according to Spanish journalist Adria Albets, who reports on Wednesday morning that there is a possibility Fermin will move to Stamford Bridge.
Albets claims that while Fermin has not made a decision yet to leave, he is "seriously considering Chelsea's offer."
The journalist adds that Fermin will make a decision soon on his future.
Fermin to Chelsea
On Tuesday, Catalan newspaper Sport claimed that the Blues had made a €50 million bid for the versatile attacking midfielder.
David Ornstein of The Athletic later confirmed that Chelsea hold a long-standing interest in Fermin, but his reporting was more cautious. He simply stated that the Stamford Bridge club are 'evaluating the possibility' of a transfer.
Fabrizio Romano added on Wednesday that there hasn't been an offer yet from Chelsea.
Speaking on his YouTube channel, Romano said: "I can tell you that Barcelona sources are denying any bid. Barcelona guarantee that they don't have any official bid from Chelsea, any formal proposal, any email, this or that.
"There is no club-to-club contact as of now. We're in the final days [of the window], so this is not going to be a matter of weeks or months; obviously, it's a matter of hours and days, so this could change any moment."
Fermin was somewhat on the periphery of the Blaugrana's success in Hansi Flick's first season on 2024-25.
Given the household names in Barcelona's centre of the park, Fermin naturally struggled to win a starting spot in the side.
Still, the 22-year-old's insatiable drive forward was evident when given chances to impress.
Despite primarily coming off the bench, Fermin managed to chip in with a respectable eight goals and 10 assists last term.
Since making his senior Barcelona debut in 2023-24, he has managed 89 appearances in all competitions and scored 19 goals in all competitions and nine assists.
He has made one appearance for Barcelona this season.
He has been capped twice by the Spain national team.
