Bargain Premier League star WANTS Man Utd as interest confirmed
Leicester City midfielder Wilfred Ndidi is interested in a move to Manchester United, according to former Nigeria international Julius Aghahowa.
The 28-year-old has suffered his second relegation with the Foxes, but Ndidi is not expected to feature in another Championship campaign. Since joining Leicester in 2017, Ndidi has shown himself to be a reliable Premier League holding midfielder.
Ndidi was previously close to leaving the club, but he ultimately opted to extend his contract, as part of which he was given a relegation release clause. Due to the recent demotion, this clause is now active, and it is only worth around €10 million, making Ndidi a real bargain.
The fact that such a clause exists hasn't gone unnoticed, with the 65-time Nigeria international fielding interest from around Europe and beyond. Journalist Ben Jacobs recently revealed that the likes of Real Betis, Everton and Juventus, as well as Saudi clubs, have enquired about him.
Most intriguingly of all, Jacobs stated that Man Utd have also discussed a move for the veteran midfielder in what could be a shrewd piece of business by the Red Devils.
Ndidi keen on Man Utd
Now, former Nigeria star Julius Aghahowa, described as a close friend of Ndidi, has spoken about the Leicester man's future and suggested that he would be particularly keen on a move to Old Trafford.
"While Everton and Al Ahly are clearly interested, Ndidi hopes to join Man Utd," Aghahowa told Africa Foot. "He wants to take a step up by signing for a big club like Man Utd.
"This would be an excellent move for someone I consider one of the best African midfielders of recent years. He is powerful, capable of pressing, winning back balls, and opening up the game with his long diagonal runs.
"Wilfred is the player the Red Devils need in midfield. He is surprisingly generous and capable of putting in the hard yards and covering a lot of space. He would be a considerable asset to the Manchester club if the transfer were to go through."
