Paul Pogba has described Manchester United’s decision to send Marcus Rashford on loan to Barcelona as “crazy.”

Rashford, 27, was frozen out following Ruben Amorim’s appointment last year and he is on the verge of joining Barcelona on a loan deal for the duration of the 2025-26 campaign.

The England forward has completed his medical with the Camp Nou outfit and he is set to be officially unveiled as the Blaugrana’s second summer signing, following the arrival of Espanyol goalkeeper Joan Garcia.

Barcelona will have the option to purchase Rashford on a permanent deal for €30 million next summer, while they will cover his entire salary during his loan spell at the club.

Rashford spent the second-half of last season on loan at Aston Villa and he was expected to leave Man Utd permanently this summer. However, the Red Devils were unable to find a suitor and they eventually accepted Barcelona’s loan offer after Hansi Flick’s side missed out on Nico Williams.

Although Rashford was unlikely to feature under Amorim next season, ex-Man Utd midfielder Pogba has questioned his former club’s decision to offload the 27-year-old.

Paul Pogba comments on Marcus Rashford’s move to Barcelona

During a livestream with YouTube sensation iShowSpeed, Pogba reacted to news of Rashford’s move to Barcelona.

“That's crazy, but I'm happy for him because they [United] took his number,” Pogba admitted, referring to the fact that Matheus Cunha was unveiled as Man Utd’s new No.10 before Rashford’s departure.

“Manchester United are losing a great player. Unlucky for them,” the AS Monaco midfielder continued.

“It's great for Barcelona to be honest. I'm not even talking about United, because they've bought a few new players and the new manager wants to do his thing I guess.

“It's not really his [Amorim’s] fault. If he doesn't believe in someone. He needs to win. If he doesn't win they're going to sack him.”
