Matheus Cunha's wife makes HUGE sacrifice after Man Utd transfer
Matheus Cunha’s wife gave birth to their second child via a caesarean section in order to allow her husband to join his new Manchester United team-mates on their pre-season tour of the USA.
The Brazil international officially completed a €74.3 million transfer from Wolverhampton Wanderers on 1 July and he made his debut for the Red Devils during a friendly against Leeds United last week.
However, Gabriela, his wife, made a major sacrifice in order to help his transition to life at Old Trafford by asking to bring forward the birth of their second child, according to The Sun.
Matheus Cunha’s wife undergoes C-Section
A source told The Sun: “Gabriela knew how important it was for Matheus to be able to go on the pre-season tour to get to know his team-mates before the start of the season.
“They discussed it as a couple and the doctors agreed to book her in for an elective C-section on Monday, so Matheus could be at her side.
“He’s now joined his team-mates and knows that friends and family will help look after Gabriela and their new baby until he returns home.”
Following the birth of daughter Liz, Cunha posted on Instagram: “Hello world I’m Liz. And we are 4 now. I am very blessed to have you. Thanks God for everything.”
Cunha is expected to play a prominent role during Man Utd’s pre-season tour of the United States of America, with Ruben Amorim’s side set to face West Ham United, Bournemouth and Everton before their Premier League campaign kicks off versus Arsenal on 17 August.
The 26-year-old scored 17 goals and provided six assists in 36 appearances across all competitions during his final season at Wolves, and he is likely to be deployed alongside fellow new signing Bryan Mbeumo in a new-look forward line at Old Trafford.
