Five Man Utd superstars hand in TRANSFER REQUESTS - Romano
Five Manchester United players have officially informed the club of their desire to be sold during the 2025 summer transfer window, according to Fabrizio Romano.
Ruben Amorim’s side ended the 2024-25 campaign in a lowly 15th position in the Premier League table and several major changes are expected this summer.
Man Utd have already confirmed their first signing of the summer window - Wolverhampton Wanderers forward Matheus Cunha - while they are in advanced talks to land Brentford winger Bryan Mbeumo.
A new striker has been identified as a key priority too, and Man Utd are also scouring Europe for a possible new goalkeeper, centre-back, wing-back and central midfielder.
However, finances are limited at Old Trafford, in part due to their failure to qualify for Europe last term, and the club must raise funds through player sales before they are able to significantly dip into the market.
A number of stars have been linked with an exit this summer and Romano has revealed that five Man Utd players have officially submitted a transfer request.
The football transfer news expert posted on X: “BREAKING: Marcus Rashford, Antony, Alejandro Garnacho, Tyrell Malacia, Jadon Sancho have all informed Manchester United they wish to leave.
“Man Utd have delayed their return date until later in July to allow them time to explore solutions further.”
How much will Man Utd earn through sales this summer?
Rashford, Antony, Garnacho, Malacia and Sancho have all been heavily tipped to leave Man Utd over the past few months, and a departure now seems increasingly likely.
Garnacho is the only player who didn’t spend time out on loan during the 2024-25 campaign, however he has been told to find a new club by Amorim after a public bust-up following the Europa League final.
The combined Estimated Transfer Value (ETV) of the aforementioned five players is €187.1 million, although it remains to be seen if Man Utd will be able to extract this level of income before the start of the new season.
