Liverpool ready to sign winger who TERRORISED Man Utd
Liverpool will look to make a move for Lyon winger Malick Fofana after completing the sale of Federico Chiesa, according to a report.
The Reds' wingers have come into focus this summer, with Luis Diaz, in particular, a man in high demand. However, Liverpool have so far rebuffed every approach they have received for the Colombian.
Even though Diaz has informed the club of his desire to join Bayern Munich, Liverpool insist - at least publicly - that he is not for sale. However, there is a belief that they will ultimately cave at the right price.
Whether Bayern are willing and able to pay what Liverpool have in mind is a different question, of course. As things stand, then, Federico Chiesa is a much more imminent departure, with the Italian having just been omitted from Arne Slot's squad for the pre-season tour of Asia.
The 27-year-old is being courted by several Serie A clubs, and Liverpool already have a replacement lined up, it seems.
Liverpool looking to swoop for Fofana
According to Sacha Tavolieri, Liverpool will make a move for Lyon winger Malick Fofana once the sale of Chiesa has been finalised. Talks with the Belgium international are currently on standby as the Reds seek to find a buyer for their unwanted man.
Liverpool are massive admirers of the 20-year-old, and Fofana would surely be keen on the move. Lyon recently struck an agreement to sell him to Nottingham Forest, but the player refused to give the green light as he wanted to wait for Champions League clubs to make a move.
Fofana is coming off an encouraging season with Lyon, with his performances in the Europa League particularly impressive. Although the Ligue 1 side ultimately crashed out at Old Trafford, the tricky winger terrorised Man Utd last term.
Fofana has been linked with a host of clubs, including the likes of Chelsea and Bayern Munich, but Liverpool look a good bet to secure the youngster's signature.
