Fabrizio Romano transfer news: Chelsea exit BOMBSHELL, Osimhen DEMAND, Gyokeres TRUTH
Football transfer news reporter Fabrizio Romano has delivered the latest news from the 2025 summer window, with updates on Nicolas Jackson, Victor Osimhen and Viktor Gyokeres.
Tottenham double deal
Tottenham Hotspur have officially completed the signing of West Ham United forward Mohammed Kudus, while they are on the verge of announcing Morgan Gibbs-White as their latest summer signing.
“Congratulations to Tottenham because it’s been an unbelievable 24 hours,” Romano told his YouTube channel.
“After Kudus, Tottenham have signed Morgan Gibbs-White. He was on the list of Manchester City at the start of the transfer window, but they decided to go for a different strategy. Gibbs-White is now going to Tottenham and it’s a ‘here we go.’
“In 24 hours, Tottenham have signed Kudus for £55m and Gibbs-White for £60m - they have triggered the release clause included in his contract at Nottingham Forest. Everything is agreed between all parties involved.”
Alvaro Carreras to Real Madrid
Real Madrid have been chasing a deal for Alvaro Carreras since the pre-Club World Cup transfer window and they have finally reached an agreement to sign him, as per Romano.
The transfer expert admitted: “One more ‘here we go’ and this is an exclusive story. Real Madrid and Benfica are closing a deal for Rafael Obrador, the young left-back. He is already in Lisbon for medical and contract signing; he joins on a permanent transfer and Real Madrid will maintain a sell-on clause.
“Obrador was the card for Real Madrid to negotiate with Benfica for Alvaro Carreras. The release clause was one payment of €50m, but Real Madrid have reached an agreement to pay this in several different instalments.
“Carreras will become a Real Madrid player. But, the player must wait to travel until Manchester United send an email confirming to Benfica that they will not take the buy-back clause in his contract.”
Chelsea exits
Meanwhile, Romano also provided a major update on two players who could be set to leave Chelsea this summer.
“Chelsea have agreed a permanent transfer for Mathis Amougou to join Strasbourg, with Chelsea maintaining a buy-back clause,” Romano revealed.
“I wanted to mention Nicolas Jackson too. Be attentive to Jackson’s situation at Chelsea because I’m hearing there is a possibility for Nico Jackson and Chelsea to part ways this summer.
“It’s getting concrete, it’s getting serious, there is interest from several clubs in the Premier League and in Italy, with AC Milan dreaming of Nico Jackson.
“At the moment, he is very expensive for Italian clubs in general and AC Milan because Chelsea always made an important valuation of Jackson.
“But, several clubs are calling to understand the eventual conditions of the deal. There is a concrete possibility that he could leave Chelsea, he is available on the market. This could be one to watch in the next few weeks.”
Victor Osimhen latest
Victor Osimhen is close to rejoining Galatasaray on a permanent deal, although Romano has admitted that Napoli are yet to be satisfied by the Turkish club’s latest offer.
“Galatasaray and Napoli have an agreement on a transfer fee, which is the fee of the release clause - €75m.
“But, Napoli want bank guarantees for this payment to be completed because it will not be paid in one or two solutions, it will be paid over several years,” Romano said. “Galatasaray are proposing not to formally pay the clause, but to pay this money over five years.
“Napoli want an absolute guarantee for this money to be received under any condition. This is what they are asking for and now it’s up to Galatasaray to close this story and provide this guarantee.
“I’m not aware of Man Utd entering this battle because of his salary. The real point between Premier League clubs and Osimhen has always been about the salary. He is on €12m net annual salary at Napoli and Galatasaray are prepared to pay €16m net per season. This is completely different from the wage structure at Man Utd.”
Gyokeres update
Finally, Romano also provided the latest state of play regarding Arsenal’s pursuit of Viktor Gyokeres, amid rumours the deal could collapse.
“My information, as of tonight, is that Arsenal will keep working on the deal for Gyokeres. He will not turn up to training and he is focused on Arsenal, he is not flirting with other clubs at this stage.
“He has agreed personal terms on a five-year contract, but he is waiting for the clubs to reach an agreement.”
