€20m Arsenal REQUEST made as Arteta favourite keen on reunion
Parma are requesting that Arsenal budge from their €20 million asking price for Fabio Vieira, according to Italian media.
The 25-year-old is likely to leave the Gunners again this summer, either permanently or via another loan. Vieira spent the previous campaign back at his boyhood club Porto, but he didn't do enough to prove that he can be a regular for Arsenal going forward.
Mikel Arteta remains a fan of the nifty midfielder, but there is an acceptance at the Emirates that Vieira would struggle for minutes if he were to stay beyond the summer.
FootballTransfers recently revealed that Arsenal had asked Vieira if he would be interested in a move to Crystal Palace, with the Portuguese a player the Gunners would be open to sending to Selhurst Park in exchange for Eberechi Eze.
Meanwhile, Parma have expressed an interest in Vieira, and the iconic Italian club believe that there is a deal to be done with Arsenal - but they need some help.
Parma want Vieira
According to Gazzetta di Parma, the Serie A side are confident that they can find a formula to sign Vieira this summer, but this will require some willingness to compromise on the part of Arsenal.
The Gunners have reportedly set a €20 million asking price for Vieira, while the player's estimated €3m annual salary also poses a problem. Parma feel that both the player and Arsenal could lower their demands.
This belief stems from the fact that Vieira is said to be keen on working with Carlos Cuesta again, who recently left Arsenal to become Parma's new head coach at the tender age of 29.
Parma are willing to take their time to strike the right deal for Vieira, but the Serie A side are keen to bring in midfield reinforcements as a priority this summer.
Simon Sohm is reportedly close to a move to Fiorentina, so Parma are in need of a replacement. In addition to their interest in Vieira, they are also currently in talks with Borussia Dortmund over a move for American attacking midfielder Gio Reyna.
