Man Utd close to Bryan Mbeumo as Romano drops huge transfer update

Manchester United appear set to complete the signing of Brentford forward Bryan Mbeumo following news that Tottenham Hotspur are now pursuing a deal for Mohammed Kudus.
Ruben Amorim’s side have identified Mbeumo as their priority transfer target for the summer window and they are eager to add him to their squad ahead of the 2025-26 campaign as they look to challenge for European football next term.
Mbeumo scored 20 goals and provided seven assists in 38 Premier League appearances last season and Man Utd want him to play a starring role in Amorim’s preferred 3-4-3 system.
The Cameroon international is understood to be open to an Old Trafford switch this summer, although The Transfers Podcast has revealed that Man Utd are yet to match Brentford’s €82 million asking price.
Tottenham are also known admirers of Mbeumo and they are interested in hijacking his proposed move to Man Utd following their decision to appoint Thomas Frank as their new head coach in mid-June.
However, Spurs appear to have turned their attention to West Ham United star Kudus.

Tottenham want Mohammed Kudus
The Telegraph’s Matt Law and Fabrizio Romano have both confirmed that Kudus has been identified as a key target by the Tottenham hierarchy, with initial contact taking place with his representatives.
Kudus notched nine goal contributions in all competitions last season and Spurs want to make him the first player to join the club from West Ham since Scott Parker in 2011.
In addition to Tottenham, Chelsea are also interested in signing Kudus this summer, despite agreeing deals for Jamie Gittens and Joao Pedro in recent days.
The west London side could opt to offload Noni Madueke in order to fund a move for Kudus, with the club open to offers for the England international ahead of the new campaign.
