Liverpool talks scheduled: Fabrizio Romano reveals Darwin Nunez PRIORITY

Liverpool striker Darwin Nunez is a 'top priority' for Napoli, according to Fabrizio Romano.
The Uruguay international is fully expected to depart Anfield this summer after failing to live up to the hype in his three seasons at Liverpool. The Reds shelled out a whopping €85 million to sign him from Benfica in 2022, but Nunez has become increasingly peripheral as time has gone on.
The Reds already engaged in negotiations over the potential sale of Nunez in January when Saudi giants Al-Nassr came calling. However, it was ultimately decided to keep him until the summer as Liverpool were still challenging on multiple fronts at the time.
Nunez has again become a target for Saudi clubs, with Al-Hilal recently enquiring about him, but the 25-year-old is reportedly planning to remain in Europe for the time being.
The much-maligned striker is said to be particularly keen to test himself in Spain or Italy, and he has suitors in both countries. Atletico Madrid have been heavily linked in recent weeks, but they are now facing major competition.
Nunez is Napoli's top target
According to transfer insider Fabrizio Romano, Nunez is the top striker target of Napoli, who are looking to sign a big-name striker to play alongside Romelu Lukaku and who can eventually replace the 32-year-old.
Romano states that Napoli are not even holding advanced talks with any alternative targets as they are fully focused on Nunez. New discussions with Liverpool and the player are scheduled for next week to assess the feasibility of a move.

Napoli are also planning to spend a decent amount on a new left-winger, so they won't be able to break the bank on Nunez as long as Victor Osimhen remains on the books.
Liverpool will be keen to cash in on Nunez after their record-breaking €136m outlay on Florian Wirtz, but the Reds are too shrewdly run to sell the Uruguayan on the cheap. He currently has an Estimated Transfer Value (ETV) of €60.9m, so he will command a sizeable fee.
