Arsenal have restarted talks with Atalanta for forward Ademola Lookman, according to Italian media.

The Nigeria international is coming off yet another impressive season in Bergamo, netting 20 goals and providing seven assists in 40 appearances. Lookman was named Africa's Footballer of the Year in 2024 and carried his impressive form into 2025.

Naturally, his exploits have seen him attract the attention of bigger clubs, and Lookman certainly feels that he is ready for a new challenge. The 27-year-old was already keen to leave Atalanta last summer, but the club refused to sanction his exit after selling Teun Koopmeiners.

At the time, Arsenal held preliminary talks with the versatile London-born forward, while a string of other Premier League clubs were also said to be keeping tabs on him.

Heading into this summer, there were again links with Premier League giants, including Arsenal, and Italian transfer insider Alfredo Pedulla has now revealed that the Gunners are once again in talks.

Arsenal restart Lookman talks

Pedulla reports that Arsenal have 'restarted' their discussions for the Nigerian star, who is keen to prove himself in the Premier League again after stints with Fulham and Everton.

It is claimed that Atalanta are asking for around €50 million for Lookman, although they are flexible on the structure of the transaction. The Serie A side would accept a slightly lower fee with potential bonuses.

The 27-year-old currently has an Estimated Transfer Value (ETV) of €56.2m, so this would be a good deal for Arsenal or any of his other suitors. However, as things stand, it seems that talks are still at a very early stage.

Lookman still has two years left on his Atalanta deal, but given his explicit desire to leave the club this summer, it would come as a surprise were he to stay in Bergamo for yet another season.
