The Red Devils will look to sign a right wing-back suited to Ruben Amorim's system in the summer. The top target for that position is Amorim's former Sporting CP prodigy Geovany Quenda.

The 17-year-old was handed his senior debut by the 40-year-old and has been enjoying a real breakout season. A regular starter despite his youth, Quenda is expected to leave the Lisbon giants in the summer.

The teenager is understood to have a €100 million release clause, although it has been suggested that he could be available for a fee in the region of €50m-€60m in the upcoming window.

Quenda is keen to join Man Utd, but the club's financial problems mean that his signing is not a certainty at this stage, forcing them to sound out potential alternatives.

Man Utd impressed with Roger

According to Graeme Bailey, Man Utd scouts have been left very impressed with Braga youngster Roger Fernandes. The 19-year-old is no stranger to the wing-back position as his club also line up in a 3-4-3 formation akin to Amorim's.

The left-footed attacker can play on either flank and has experience playing at left-back, so it is unsurprising that Man Utd believe that his skillset is similar to Quenda's.

Roger has been a senior player since age 15. He boasts significantly more experience than Quenda while being cheaper. His release clause stands at €40m, making him a viable alternative as far as the Red Devils are concerned.

Indeed, it is believed that Roger could even be available for a fee below his release clause. He could represent a real bargain for Man Utd, although a lot will ultimately hinge on whether or not the Premier League giants can get their hands on top target Quenda.
