Juventus are ready to get serious about their interest in Mason Greenwood, according to Italian media.

The Manchester United outcast is trying to resurrect his career on loan at Getafe after charges of attempted rape, controlling and coercive behaviour and assault occasioning actual bodily harm against him were dropped.

The 22-year-old has been in decent form for the LaLiga side, notching six goals and five assists in 25 league games so far. This has seen interest in his services increase massively in recent months, with a whole host of big-name sides supposedly interested.

Chief among them have been Barcelona and Atletico Madrid, but FootballTransfers was able to reveal that Man Utd have slapped a sizeable price tag on Greenwood's head. This makes a move to Barcelona unrealistic, while Atletico would be foolish to break the bank on a player they don't need.

More recently, Juventus have joined the race to sign the attacker. Despite a report claiming that Greenwood doesn't want to join the Bianconeri, Italian media now reports that Juventus are ready to step up their pursuit of the 22-year-old.

Juventus 'get serious'

According to Calciomercato, Greenwood is a player who has been on Juventus' radar for years, though his pre-arrest form for Man Utd made a move impossible. The situation has now, of course, drastically changed and he could be much more attainable than in previous years.

Juventus "want to get serious" about their interest in Greenwood in the summer and there is still a belief that defender Bremer could have a role to play in a potential deal. Man Utd are keen on the centre-back, though recent reports have played down the level of interest, insisting that he is not a top target.

As for Greenwood, he does not have a future at Man Utd. The expectation is that the Englishman will be offloaded permanently in the summer and, although there are still some in favour of reintegrating him into the first team, the player himself would reportedly be reluctant to re-join the Red Devils as he still has misgivings over how his case was handled by the club.
