Pulisic reveals he is LOVING life after leaving Chelsea

Christian Pulisic has opened up on the stark differences between AC Milan and Chelsea, and he's certainly loving life in Italy.

The United States men's national team star has been thriving since leaving Chelsea for AC Milan last summer. His time at Stamford Bridge was mostly one of underperformance to the point where his own fans began booing him last season and he simply had to leave.

Pulisic became one of the myriad Chelsea outcasts to depart west London in 2023, joining the Rossoneri for €20 million, which represented a massive loss for the Blues, who had spent a whopping €64m on the Borussia Dortmund wonderkid in January 2019.

Since making the move to Italy, Pulisic has been on fire, managing to recapture the BVB form that once made him one of Europe's hottest commodities. In 39 games across all competitions so far, the American has netted 12 times and assisted eight goals. Incredibly, Pulisic has more open-play goals this term than any player at Chelsea.

Pulisic loving life in Milan

Speaking to Fox Sports ahead of captaining the USMNT to a third consecutive Concacaf Nations League title, Pulisic drew attention to the main differences between Chelsea and Milan, which have allowed him to flourish with the Rossoneri.

"The lifestyle over here is definitely a shift from London. Everything feels a bit slowed-down. Obviously nicer weather. It's been a great change for me. Everything was moving kind of 100 miles an hour when I was in London, and the football culture was crazy. Here, I've been able to get away from the game, too, and enjoy the lifestyle, the culture, the food. I'm liking it a lot."

Pulisic then heaped praise on Milan boss Stefano Pioli: "He has really come through on his promises. It's not just knowing you're going to play — it's having someone who really spoke to me before and really wanted me to come in. He's given me an opportunity to go out and be myself the best way I know how, and has fit into what works best for the team."

Asked how he has managed to stay fit for most of the season after his frequent injury issues at Chelsea, the 25-year-old said: "I've taken good care of my body for sure. But it's just been good to get that consistent game time. Your body just kind of gets accustomed to it, which has been really helpful."

"When you're constantly in and out of the lineup, it can be hard. Your body isn't prepared for that constant wear, so then when you come in and give a high-intensity performance, it can definitely be a problem. But this season I'm just feeling good and confident. And that's when I play my best."
