Jadon Sancho's Manchester United exit could, at last, be finalised today, according to German media.

The exiled Man Utd winger has had to bide his time despite being desperate to seal a move back to his former club Borussia Dortmund. Last week, reports emerged that the Black and Yellow had begun negotiations with the Red Devils over the 23-year-old.

After quickly snowballing, with all parties, including Sancho, pushing for a quick resolution to the talks, things hit a stumbling block. Borussia Dortmund were reportedly interested in a buy option, something Man Utd did not want to agree to as they believe that it would be a risk.

Sancho's transfer value is at an all-time low right now, but a good spell at Dortmund could make him a more attractive option in the summer and boost his value.

Dortmund had been keen for their former wonderkid to join up at the training camp in Marbella last Friday, but nothing ultimately materialised as an agreement just couldn't be reached. However, after several days of stalling, it seems a breakthrough has been reached.

Sancho to BVB almost done

That's at least according to Florian Plettenberg of Sky Germany. According to the journalist, only now is the deal close to being done, a clear reference to BILD jumping the gun last week and asserting that everything had been wrapped up.

Plettenberg claims that only some minor details need to be ironed out and that the transaction could, at last, be finalised as early as today. Sancho will join Dortmund on a six-month loan without an option to buy.

After a disappointing first half of the domestic campaign, it is set to be a busy January window for the Black and Yellow. The German giants are also close to signing Ian Maatsen on loan from Chelsea and 16-year-old Italian talent Luca Reggiani from Sassuolo. Donyell Malen, meanwhile, could join Man Utd on loan, as exclusively revealed by FootballTransfers.
