PSG are trying to convince Bayern Munich to include Joshua Kimmich in the negotiations over Nordi Mukiele, according to French media.

The Bavarians are keen to strengthen their defence in several areas. Having been linked with a host of potential options, Bayern now appear to have settled on former Leipzig man Nordi Mukiele, who can play both centrally and on the right.

Indeed, negotiations with PSG have already started, but, according to L'Equipe, the French giants have been attempting to turn Bayern's loan offer into an audacious swap deal. The Parisians, it is claimed, have expressed a desire to sign Joshua Kimmich, whose future continues to be up in the air.

The German midfielder is not having an easy season and is out of contract in 2025. He wants a significant pay rise to extend his stay at the Allianz Arena, which is something Bayern chiefs are reluctant to grant given his drop in performance levels. German media claims that if fresh terms can't be agreed on, Kimmich will be put on the market in the summer.

PSG, however, are trying to engineer a spectacular January deal. The chances of success, as the above-mentioned report acknowledges, are minuscule.

Kimmich ideal for Liverpool?

In light of his contract uncertainty, speculation about Kimmich's future has been abounding. Man City have been repeatedly linked with the 28-year-old, with Pep Guardiola a big fan of his former Bayern protégé.

According to former Liverpool player Danny Murphy, it is Jurgen Klopp's Reds who should be all over Kimmich instead. Speaking about the January transfer business that could complete Liverpool's summer rebuild, Murphy recently told the BBC: "In an ideal world, I would like a midfielder like Joshua Kimmich, someone who can dictate play and games, who is real top quality.”

According to data experts SciSports, Kimmich should remain with Bayern Munich. His best option if he were to leave would be Barcelona, who have also been heavily associated with him, but the Catalans can't afford him. City would be his best-suited Premier League destination.
