Fabrizio Romano has calmed Liverpool fans’ nerves with his latest update about Mohamed Salah.

The winger has been extensively linked with a move to the Saudi Pro League in the lead-up to the January transfer window.

Al-Ittihad had a bid knocked back for Salah, but there is anticipation that the side may come back in with an offer in 2024.

Al-Hilal are also thought to be in the running to sign Salah, whose contract is up at Anfield in 2025. But on his Here We Go podcast, Romano has said that Liverpool’s positon has remained the same throughout - he will not be sold.

The Italian reporter said: “From what I'm told, Liverpool will retain the same position in the January transfer window. Liverpool have no intention of letting Mo Salah leave in January. With crazy money, anything can happen, but as of right now, Liverpool have the same position.”

The Saudi Pro League remains keen on Salah

In September, Saudi Pro League director of football, Michael Emenalo, spoke about his admiration for Salah, saying that he ‘adores’ the former Chelsea attacker.

“Mo is someone I consider almost like a son, he’s a player that I admire and a human being that I absolutely adore,” Emenalo told TalkSport.

“But the Saudi Pro League is not about capturing headlines, it’s about putting in processes and doing things properly and the feeling is that at this moment in time a deal was not aligned.

“We said we would do things correctly and as you have seen Mo Salah remained at Liverpool.”

Salah has been in fine form again this season for Liverpool, as they look to improve on what was a disappointing campaign the term before.

He has netted ten goals in 12 Premier League matches for the Reds so far.
