Ten Hag slammed as Man Utd do something ‘no other top team’ does

Manchester United manager Erik ten Hag has been criticised in the wake of the club’s 3-0 derby loss to Manchester City on Saturday, with pundit Jamie Carragher claiming that the Red Devils do something “no other top team” does.
United were well beaten 3-0 by their rivals in the Premier League on Sunday, with two goals from Erling Haaland and another from Phil Foden highlighting the gulf between the club.
Ten Hag had a rough day at the weekend, with his substitutions making his side weaker as the Old Trafford side disintegrated in the second half of the game and were well beaten, leaving them eighth in the Premier League table, eight points off the Champions League spots.

Now the former Ajax manager is starting to come under fire, with Carragher not holding back.
“He has been here 18 months and none of us here can explain what Manchester United try to do with how they play. They play underdog football. They play counter-attack and long balls - no other top team plays that way,” he told Sky Sports.
“It's really shocking when you see them try to play out from the back.”

Neville backs Ten Hag
Gary Neville, meanwhile, continues to offer his support to the Man Utd manager, claiming that the whole culture around the club needs an overhaul.
“My anger isn't with Ten Hag. I don't think he is the fundamental problem. The toxicity at this club is eating alive every manager and every player that comes here,” he said.
Man Utd face a busy fortnight before the international break in November, kicking off with a home encounter against Newcastle in the EFL Cup on Wednesday.
With Premier League encounters away to Fulham and at home to Luton, Ten Hag will find himself under real pressure in the days ahead if results do not come.
