Napoli president Aurelio De Laurentiis has said that he will only consider selling Victor Osimhen next summer if he is offered a deal worth €500 million or more.

Osimhen spent much of the summer of 2023 linked with a possible move to Manchester United, PSG and Chelsea while FootballTransfers has revealed that Arsenal would like to make a deal with the 24-year-old in 2024.

Equally, though, the Nigeria international, who scored 26 times in 32 Serie A matches last term, has been courted by the Saudi Pro League. Indeed, he was reportedly subject to a €200m bid from Al-Hilal.

De Laurentiis’ response after receiving this offer has been detailed by L’Equipe.

The French paper reports that he wrote a mail to the intermediaries of the Saudi Pro League side, which reads as follows:

“Your offer would only buy one of Victor Osimhen’s feet. For next year, I think you will be able to offer €500m and we might consider your offer, but I repeat: ‘Might.’”

Osimhen in line for new Napoli contract

De Laurentiis has played hardball throughout the summer over Osimhen and it appears that he does not see his stance on the Nigeria star changing in the next 12 months, during which the striker will surely only gain interest.

The Napoli supremo has reportedly lined up a new contract for the Nigeria star that will see him become the highest earner in the club’s history.

The new contract will see Osimhen earn €10m per year and will see him commit his future to the club for 2026, according to information from Di Marzio. The transfer specialist also reported that there will be a minimum fee release clause worth €150m, but this does not tally with De Laurentiis’ words.

Osimhen, meanwhile, was reportedly offered a contract with €40m per year by Al-Hilal.
