Chelsea move for USMNT star

Chelsea are reportedly weighing up a move for Leeds and United States midfielder Tyler Adams.
Adams was relegated to the Championship with Leeds last season and is said to be attracting attention from a number of Premier League clubs.
And, with a relegation clause of around £25m, the 24-year-old would cost considerably less than other midfielders being targeted by the Blues – chiefly Brighton’s Moises Caicedo.

According to MailOnline, Aston Villa are currently first in line to sign Adams – but the reports adds that Chelsea are ‘waiting in the wings’.
Adams only joined Leeds from RB Leipzig last summer – but he will not want to play second-tier football next term, and it’s no surprise that he has no shortage of Premier League suitors.
Brighton, Nottingham Forest and West Ham have also been credited with an interest in the former New York Red Bulls man – who has won 36 caps for the USA, helping them to the last 16 of the 2022 World Cup, where Gregg Berhalter’s side held England to a draw in the group stage.

From Arsenal admirer to Chelsea player?
Adams’ international performances throughout 2022 saw him named as U.S. Soccer’s Male Player of the Year – while he was also one of the few shining lights in Leeds’ disastrous 2022/23 relegation campaign.
Upon signing for the Whites, Adams realised a childhood ambition of playing in the English top flight – although he tended to follow a London team other than Chelsea... Last November, he explained:
“Growing up, the Premier League was always the dream. I grew up a huge Thierry Henry fan – partially because he played for New York Red Bulls, but also because I watched a lot of Arsenal games as well. I admired him [and] how he played the game.”
