Paris Saint-Germain are posing a hijack threat to Chelsea's pursuit of Elye Wahi, according to French media.

The 20-year-old has become one of Europe's hottest commodities and Montpellier have already resigned themselves to losing Wahi, who scored an impressive 19 goals and provided six assists last term.

Club president Louis Nicollin said at the beginning of August: "We [Montpellier and Wahi] agreed on an exit. We’ll think about it if the league starts and maybe we’ll set a deadline. There’s a month left of the transfer window. We’ve said certain things to each other.

“He’s training; we’ll see with him. If there’s nothing come the 20th or the 25th of August, we aren’t more stupid than anyone else; we’ll talk; he’ll be available for the first team."

Chelsea are still interested in the youngster, but after Monaco revived their interest in Wahi in the wake of Breel Embolo's ACL injury, even more clubs are now ready to rival Chelsea for his signature.

PSG and Tottenham keen

According to Footmercato, PSG and Tottenham are both in contact with Montpellier regarding Wahi. The Parisians have asked about the conditions of a potential deal despite recently signing Goncalo Ramos.

Spurs, meanwhile, have just snapped up Alejo Veliz, but they might be in the market for another striker soon should Harry Kane accept Bayern's offer. Indeed, the French outlet writes that the north London club could 'quickly go on the offensive' in terms of making a move.

Eintracht Frankfurt also remain in the race, having already invited Wahi to inspect the club's facilities in the same manner Chelsea did. Arsenal and Olympique Marseille were also previously credited with an interest in the 20-year-old.

The young Frenchman saw his Estimated Transfer Value (ETV) peak at €20.1 million last term, so he won't come cheap.
