Jamie Carragher believes that every footballer has his price, and that includes Liverpool idol Mohamed Salah.

The striker is at the centre of fevered transfer speculation as the window enters its final week.

Saudi Pro League side Al-Ittihad are reportedly desperate to add Salah to their ranks, which would see him pair up with Karim Benzema in a star-studded forward line.

Liverpool have been adamant their ace is not up for sale, insisting he is "100 per cent" committed to the Premier League club.

But while he believes a move this summer is unlikely, Carragher can see the Merseysiders eventually yielding - but for a substantial fee.

How much could Salah move for?

"He wouldn't leave for £100million. I think if it got to £150m, and maybe over that, you might have a question to be asked," the former Reds defender told Sky Sports.

"But I just think it is so late in the window, that is the problem. If you actually think of Liverpool's model under FSG, if this had come at a better time or the team was a little bit better, I think they would seriously think about it.

"They did that with Philippe Coutinho a few years ago. Liverpool didn't replace Coutinho, they just strengthened in other areas. If that was to happen, which I don't think it will, it does make me think about next summer.

Mo Salah has got two seasons to go, so I think it could be something that is revisited next summer."

Having already seen Fabinho and Jordan Henderson leave for Saudi Arabia over the past two months, Carragher added that while it would be difficult to turn down an astronomical transfer fee Liverpool should be more focused on buying rather than selling.

"If they [Al-Ittihad] kept going higher and higher, of course it was be ridiculous to turn down an obscene amount of money," he stated.

"Liverpool supporters are crying out for signings and not looking to move players on. He is their best player and I think he will stay."
