Tottenham have a long-standing interest in Franck Kessie but the midfielder is content at Barcelona and has not yet received a proposal from any other club.

We are told that Kessie is happy at Camp Nou and would only consider a move away if a respectable deal with an offer of regular game time was on the table.

The player, who only joined Barcelona last year, has been looked at by clubs in Saudi Arabia and Juventus too, but we understand no approach has been firmed up and so, as it stands, he will be staying in Spain.

Kessie spent three years with AC Milan, playing over 200 games and winning Serie A, before making the move to the Catalan side in July 2022.

The 26-year-old was part of the Barcelona set-up that won the LaLiga title last game, featuring in 43 games for the club.

So far, Barcelona have offloaded nine players this summer, with seven of those stars leaving on permanent deals. Antoine Griezmann (Atletico Madrid), Nico Gonzalez (FC Porto) and Francisco Trincao (Sporting CP) are the only three players to have left for a fee.

Barca must sell to buy

The club must sell more players to ensure they can register any new players. It’s thought the likes of Ferran Torres, Ansu Fati and Clement Lenglet are up for sale for the right price.

French outlet L’Equipe confirmed that Ousmane Dembele is set to receive a large cut of the fee attached to his proposed transfer from Barcelona to Paris Saint-Germain.

The winger only signed a two-year contract extension with the LaLiga club last summer, but he has a release clause worth €100m that came into place on 1 August. PSG have been stepping up their interest in recent days and the Frenchman could be making a return to France if a deal is struck.
