Manchester City midfielder Bernardo Silva has dropped the biggest hint yet that he will leave the Champions League winners.

Bernardo has been linked with both Barcelona and PSG for more than a year, and it is the Parc des Princes club that appear to have taken a decisive step towards completing a transfer.

According to FootMercato, the Portugal international player has gone house hunting in the French capital, where he could team up with his former Monaco teammate Kylian Mbappe, assuming the striker remains at the club.

But while Bernardo seems to have his heart set on PSG, the negotiations with Man City promise to be complicated.

The Ligue 1 champions have made an offer of €40 million plus a player to Pep Guardiola’s Premier League champions, but Man City have knocked back the offer, instead insisting on a cash fee of €100m for a 28-year-old player who has an Estimated Transfer Value (ETV) of €77m and two years left to run on his contract.

With Barcelona ailing financially, their hopes of landing Bernardo appear very distant indeed.

In addition to this, PSG are making progress with regards a deal for Lyon attacker Bradley Barcola and have offered the promising winger a five-year deal. With OL struggling financially, they could be forced into the sale of one of the most promising young Ligue 1 talents.

Man City target Barella

PSG’s major target, though, is Bernardo, and though an agreement with City still appears distant, they have received another positive sign that a deal might be done, with the Premier League champions having target a replacement.

Guardiola’s side have reportedly lined up Inter midfielder Nicolo Barella as Bernardo Silva’s replacement, with the 26-year-old Italy international coming off the back of a season in which he led his side to the Champions League final, which was won 1-0 by City.

Barella, who also won Euro 2020 with the Azzurri, has an ETV of €56m.
