Chelsea starlet Levi Colwill will only make a decision on his future after meeting with Mauricio Pochettino, according to various reports.

The defender is one of the most sought-after players in the Premier League this summer. Linked with Manchester City and Liverpool, Colwill's future remains uncertain.

Chelsea, however, consider the 20-year-old 'untouchable' and they are keen to extend his current contract, which expires in 2025, for a few more years as they have done with several players already.

This is proving to be quite a challenge, though. Colwill enjoyed an impressive loan spell at Brighton last season and considering that he has high-profile suitors, he wants guarantees that he will play a regular part in Chelsea's first team next season before signing a new deal.

Chelsea have made their offer, but Colwill is refusing to sign - for now.

A crucial Pochettino meeting

According to the Evening Standard, the 20-year-old defender wants to have a meeting with new Chelsea boss Mauricio Pochettino before making a final decision on whether to commit to the Blues long-term or whether to explore other options.

Pochettino is set to take the reins for the first time at Stamford Bridge on July 3, so Chelsea fans will have to be patient for a few more days before the situation gets clarified.

The sale of Kalidou Koulibaly and the Argentine's track record of working with youngsters are certainly promising preconditions for a potential Colwill stay. The youngster wasn't a guaranteed starter at Brighton and he likely won't ask for a starting spot at Chelsea, but he will be keen to get regular minutes under his belt next season.

Yet it must be said that Colwill did ruffle some feathers late last term by posting on Twitter that he was enjoying a nice evening with fellow Chelsea loanee Billy Gilmour while their parent club was getting demolished by Manchester United.
