Man Utd and Arsenal are both reportedly in the huge race to sign the player tabbed as 'the new Mesut Ozil' - Turkish wonderkid Arda Guler.

The 18-year-old Guler has become one of Europe's hottest young properties with most of the continent's elite jostling for position to sign him this summer.

While La Liga giants Real Madrid and Barcelona are both very much hoping to land Guler, Madrid daily AS also reports that there are a number of Premier League big guns hoping to do just the same.

Premier League giants in hunt for Arda Guler

That list includes Man Utd, Arsenal and Newcastle according to the reports from Spain.

While Guler is a tantalising talent, one of the reasons so many clubs are keen to prise him away from Fenerbahce right now is the price. He is available for a bargain release clause of just €17.5m. Great news for Erik ten Hag with that Man Utd takeover saga continuing to hamper his summer shopping.

Guler's representatives have reportedly told Fener he has no intention of renewing his contract in Istanbul, which has put all of those aforementioned clubs (plus AC Milan, PSG, Borussia Dortmund and Sevilla) on red alert.

While he remains a raw talent (Guler played 20 league games last season for Fenerbahce, scoring 4 goals and providing 3 assists), his potential is unquestioned. No wonder so many clubs are chasing him.

The battle for his signature is set to run for a little while yet, and it could be one of the most fascinating transfer chases of the entire summer. Get the popcorn...
