Manchester United fans sang Harry Kane's name in the 2-2 draw against Tottenham.

United were 2-0 up in the first half, thanks to goals from Kane's England teammates Jadon Sancho and Marcus Rashford.

Kane has been heavily linked with a move to Old Trafford in recent seasons.

And despite a second-half comeback, Spurs are a far inferior side to United, who look likely to qualify for the Champions League.

A move to United could be exactly what Kane needs at this stage of his impressive, but trophy-less career.

Kane vs Haaland in Manchester?

Paul Merson waxed lyrical about the England captain, who he is eager to see leave north London for a better chance at winning trophies.

''In an age where clubs spend money for fun and world-class centre-forwards are a rarity, I would find it crazy if Manchester United did not break the bank for Harry Kane,'' Merson wrote for the Daily Star earlier in the season.

''You can look all around the world, rack your brains and round up every scout within your network and the answer is right there in front of you. There is nobody that comes close to Kane that is currently available.

''Everyone talks about Erling Haaland but for me, Kane could deliver similar numbers in that City team and even add more assists.

''Even if he costs £150million and it's a four or five-year contract, you are buying over 100 goals. Who else is going to give you that?

''Call me silly but he would even give United a chance of winning the Champions League in my opinion. He is a machine.''
