Manchester United and Liverpool are paying attention to the situation of Joao Felix, who could leave Atletico Madrid soon, according to Portuguese publication A Bola.

The Portuguese international is not happy with his situation at Atletico Madrid and is looking for a way to leave the club in the coming months.

This has alerted potential suitors, namely Manchester United, who have long been interested in him and considered making a move for the player in the summer transfer window.

Those rumours could now be intensified amid rumours that the relationship between player and coach is now hard to repair and a transfer could happen as early as January.

Joao Felix's Atletico Madrid future in doubt

There’s a belief that there is now irreversible damage between Felix and Simeone and that has led to the player wanting away from the club, just three years after signing.

In their most recent match – a goalless draw against Club Brugge in the Champions League on Wednesday evening – Simeone left Felix on the bench for the entire 90 minutes.

Felix has been frustrated by the lack of game time he has got and he wants to be at a place where he gets more time on the pitch and has a regular starting role.

Felix feels as though he is a victim of Simeone as a result of the deterioration in the relationship between the pair, and because of that, a January transfer away from the club has been suggested.

Although Manchester United spent heavily in the summer, especially on Antony, they are still looking to add more quality in attack and Felix is a possible option for them to consider.

The 22-year-old was reportedly the subject of a €130 million offer from the Red Devils, and they will certainly be keeping an eye on his situation in the coming months to see how things turn out.
