Dejan Kulusevski’s loan move to Tottenham from Juventus has been a roaring success for Antonio Conte’s side, so it is unsurprising that they would want to make the deal a permanent one.

The Sweden international wideman has turned out 29 times Spurs and has already contributed six goals and 11 assists.

Kulusevski might not have been quite as spectacular this season as he was in his first six months at Tottenham, but a return of one goal and three assists has still been a valuable contribution from the 22-year-old.

Fabrizio Romano reports that his deal at Tottenham is liable to be made into a full-time one, with the north London side eager to pin him down to permanent terms.

He reports that this can be done in one of two ways.

The first method, and one that already looks the likeliest, is that if Kulusevski played 20 Premier League matches for 45 minutes or more, Tottenham are obliged to buy him for €35 million. This does not include the €10m loan fee that Spurs paid in January to keep him until June 2023.

Should this not happen, perhaps because of the player getting injured, then the club also have the fallback option of making the deal permanent in any case. It is not clear what the price of this might be, however.

Kulusevski will be a bargain signing

Kulusevski has been an ever present for Tottenham in the Premier League thus far, although he missed out on the startingXI for the 2-1 home victory against Fulham in early September. Nevertheless, he has already played more than 45 minutes in six of seven games this season, suggesting that Tottenham are eager to tie him down permanently.

This is particularly the case given that he has only played a bit-part role in the club’s two Champions League matches this term, which saw them beat Marseille 2-0 and then lose to Sporting CP by the same scoreline.

Valued at €61m by FootballTransfers, Tottenham appear destined to make Kulusevski a bargain signing.
