How Casemiro faces Ronaldo treatment at Man Utd

Casemiro made a big move to Manchester United this summer but he could face the same consequences as Cristiano Ronaldo if he and the club fail to meet certain goals.
The Brazilian midfielder signed for the Red Devils in a £70 million deal, making him one of Manchester United’s most expensive signings ever as Erik ten Hag looked for a new defensive midfielder.
Casemiro was handed a massive contract to make the move as he signed a four-year deal worth around £375,000-a-week, however, that may be cut down in the future.
Like the clause in Ronaldo’s contract, if Manchester United don’t meet some objectives in the upcoming season, Casemiro’s wages will be slashed in the next campaign.

According to The Athletic, one of the objectives for Manchester United and Casemiro is that the club has to qualify for the Champions League next season for the Brazilian to stay on his current wages.
If not, he will go back to the wages he was on at Real Madrid, a deduction Ronaldo and some of the other players had to accept after finishing sixth in the league last season.
Ronaldo’s wages were cut by about 25 percent this season, which was reportedly one of the reasons for his discontent at the club over the summer.
The cut reportedly reduced his weekly salary of around £480,000 to approximately £360,000, according to the Manchester Evening News.

Manchester United also have to accept a cut in sponsorship revenue for every season they don’t qualify for the Champions League, as their deals shrinks by about 30 percent each time.
They are in a 10-year agreement with Adidas worth £75 million each year, however, about £22.5 million is taken off for each season they fail to qualify for Europe’s premier club cup competition.
Ten Hag’s side started this season poorly but have recovered well and are on a four-game winning streak, sitting just three points off the top of the table.
