Chelsea and Barcelona continue talks over Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang’s move to Stamford Bridge but there is quite a gap between demand and offer, CBS reporter Ben Jacobs writes for FootballTransfers.

Everything in the transfer market now needs to be fast given the point of the window that we find ourselves in.

Decisions have to be made quickly because we are getting into the countdown stage of the window.

It reminds to be seen whether Aubameyang is 100 per cent open to the Chelsea move, but I think that he can certainly see the advantages of it.

And then agreeing a fee with Barcelona is important as well.

And the challenge with the money is that because of the Memphis Depay situation [Juventus are in negotiations to sign the Dutch forward] and Barcelona not wanting to let both players move this window, Barca can hold out for a little more.

How much do Barcelona want for Aubameyang?

So Chelsea are valuing Aubameyang in a permanent deal at more around the £11 million mark.

And I think Barcelona are hoping for kind of £18-20m.

This week the club-to-club negotiation needs to either find a common ground or Chelsea need to pay a little bit more.

So let’s see whether that offer is acceptable to Barcelona and then they have to obviously convince Aubameyang to make the move as well.

I expect there to be movement on this transfer this week.

It’s certainly not a given this transfer will happen but there is a growing confidence at Chelsea’s end.
