Victor Osimhen is an in-demand striker having lit up Serie A for the last two seasons with Napoli.

Arsenal and Manchester United have been linked with a move for Nigeria striker Osimhen for much of the summer, and while the former have since acquired Gabriel Jesus in a £45 million deal, the latter are struggling to keep Cristiano Ronaldo at the club and could need a replacement.

A move for Osimhen might make sense. At 23, he is approaching his prime, and his 18 goals and six assists in all competitions last season make him an attractive proposition.

However, neither Arsenal nor Manchester United qualified for the Champions League this season, something Napoli managed by finishing third in Serie A, and appears that Osimhen is quite happy where he is.

"I'm at Napoli, and I have great respect for my club," he told Italian newspaper Corriere Dello Sport. "[Links to Arsenal and Man Utd] are just rumours of the market. I'm fine here and I've never had such close relationships with anyone as I do at this moment.

Osimhen: 'quality signings'

"I spoke to the president, he's the one who decides, and he reassured me by explaining the club's plans.

"I'm happy with what he told me and the new signing are of high quality: words were followed by deeds. I'm very happy to play with Napoli and we'll see in the future."

Napoli lost captain Lorenzo Insigne to Toronto FC this summer and the man slated to replace him in the role, Kalidou Koulibaly, has since left in a €40 million move to Chelsea.

But Andre-Frank Zambo Anguissa's loan from Fulham has been made permanent for €15m, while Uruguay left-back Mathias Olivera has been signed from Getafe for €11m, and Napoli look well placed for an assault on Serie A again next season.
