Real Madrid’s victory over Liverpool in the final of the Champions League was not only massive for the club from a sporting perspective, but also financially.

The Blancos defeated the Reds 1-0 in Paris on Saturday, with Vinicius Junior scoring the only goal of the game in the second half.

How much is Champions League win worth?

Madrid’s win over Liverpool earned them a staggering €20 million alone in prize money just for winning that game.

For finishing runners-up Liverpool still took home an impressive €15.5m.

It completes a lucrative Champions League campaign for Real Madrid, with teams able to make as much as €85.1m in prize money throughout the competition.

Qualifying for the group stages earns each team €15.64m, while each group stage win earns a team €2.8m and a draw €930,000.

Real Madrid are also now guaranteed a further €3.5m in prize money for reaching the UEFA Super Cup final where they will play Eintracht Frankfurt. If they win that game, they will make an extra €1m on top of the €3.5m.
