Manchester City’s problems were laid bare for all to see last Saturday when Pep Guardiola’s side failed to score in their Champions League final defeat to Chelsea in Portugal.

Despite Sergio Aguero and Gabriel Jesus featuring in the match, the English Premier League champions lacked a clinical touch in the box that ultimately cost the club the opportunity to win its first major European trophy.

As a result, it now seems as though the most-expensively assembled squad in the history of the sport may look to address that issue in the coming months by signing a striker.

According to SportBild, Man City may now turn their attention towards Eintracht Frankfurt striker Andre Silva.

The Portugal international has been in tremendous form for the Bundesliga side this season, with no less than 29 goals and 10 assists in just 34 games.

However, Man City are likely to face stiff competition for the marksman if they do attempt to sign him this summer.

Who else wants to sign Andre Silva?

While Man City can certainly rival any club in the world when it comes to spending power in the transfer market, they may not appreciate other big clubs looking to sign one of their targets.

Unfortunately, that may end up being the case with Silva’s popularity in the coming off-season.

Not only has the Portuguese goal scorer been linked with moves to City’s main rivals, Manchester United, but has also apparently attracted interest from Real Madrid as well.

According to reports in England and Spain, both Man Utd and Madrid see Silva as an ideal No.9 for their teams next season, just as Guardiola & Co. fancy the Frankfurt star for their own.

However, it remains to be seen whether Frankfurt are willing to let their star striker to go without a fight, since he still has a contract at the club until 2023.
