Andrija Radulovic’s performances in the UEFA Youth League and for the Red Star Belgrade first team have put numerous clubs around Europe on alert to his talents.

Radulovic became a more known quantity in European football last year when he impressed against Spurs in the aforementioned youth tournament, and it was around this time that Manchester City allegedly started keeping an eye on his progress.

Radulovic primarily plays as a winger, but has on occasion been used as a full-back.

Though Radulovic has enjoyed a burgeoning reputation for a little while now, it was a match in the UEFA Youth League between Red Star and Tottenham that put him on the map as he scored and performed superbly in a 2-0 win for the Serbian side last year.

Over the past year he has become a full member of the first team squad at Red Star and is in the process of making the position at right wing his own.

Radulovic is very much in the mould of a modern winger in that he primarily plays on the right despite the fact he is left-footed, allowing him to cut inside from the flank onto his stronger side.

This allows him to display his trickery as well as his direct running abilities.

He isn’t afraid to pull the trigger either, and shouldn’t be given room outside the box on his cultured left foot. He can play in a central role or on the left, with the latter allowing him to pop crosses into the box, but he performs best in the inverted role on the right.

What clubs are interested in Andrija Radulovic?

A while back, Andrea Luciani, a colleague of agent Federico Pastorella confirmed that a number of clubs were looking at Radulovic, including Milan.

“Radulovic is a left-footed attacking midfielder. The boy showed off in the Youth League, scoring goals against Tottenham,” he told Calciomercato.it.

“Some time ago there was also the news that Milan were following him. For now, however, he must remain with his feet on the ground, because he still alternates between the first team and the youth team.

“Last summer Schalke and Valencia asked for information. He makes me think of [Domenico] Berardi, [Matteo] Politano, [Xherdan] Shaqiri.”

However, it appears that Man City have won the race for his signature as the Daily Mail reported this week that the Premier League side were already in contact with Red Star about their young winger, having tracked him for over a year.

Should Radulovic indeed sign with Man City, it is likely he would be loaned back to Red Star or sent out to one of City’s affiliate clubs.
