West Brom have announced the departure of manager Slaven Bilic after the club drew 1-1 with Man City on Tuesday evening.

Despite the positive result at home to Pep Guardiola’s side, the Baggies have opted to part company with Bilic after he led them to just one victory from their opening 13 matches in the 2020/21 Premier League campaign.

The club announced the decision via statement on their website:

“West Bromwich Albion have today parted company with Head Coach Slaven Bilić.

“Assistant Coaches, Dean Računica and Danilo Butorović, and First Team Coach Julian Dicks have also left the club with immediate effect.

“The Baggies are currently 19th in the Premier League table with seven points from 13 fixtures.

“Albion would like to thank Slaven and his coaching staff for their efforts in achieving promotion last season and wishes them all well in the future.

“The club will make no further comment at this time.”

West Brom’s defence has been the major issue this season as they have the worst record in the league in keeping the ball out of the back of the net, with 26 conceded in 13.

The bookies’ favourite to land the job is currently former England boss Sam Allardyce.
