Manchester United have reportedly denied submitting a €60 million offer for Lille wonderkid Leny Yoro, despite suggestions to the contrary.

Yoro, 18, is regarded as one of the brightest young prospects in the world and he is wanted by multiple top European clubs after a sensational debut campaign in senior football.

He made 44 appearances, scoring three goals, during his first season in Lille’s first-team and his performances have caught the eyes of scouts across the continent.

Man Utd are among the teams interested in signing Yoro this summer and reports from France have suggested that Erik ten Hag’s side have already submitted a €60m bid for the teenager as they look to secure his signature.

However, the Red Devils have dismissed such reports, according to Metro. They remain in the race to sign Yoro, but Man Utd are yet to lodge their first bid for the Lille star.

Furthermore, despite interest from Old Trafford, Yoro currently prefers a move to Real Madrid, as per Spanish outlet Marca.

He has been consistently compared to Los Blancos legend Raphael Varane in recent months and Yoro has been tipped to follow in his compatriot’s footsteps by leaving Ligue 1 for the Santiago Bernabeu as a teenager.

What has been said about Leny Yoro?

Lille academy general manager Jean-Michel Vandamme spoke to the Ligue 1 website about Yoro last year and was quick to praise the youngster.

“He's had an accelerated learning curve because he only spent two years at the youth academy,” Vandamme admitted.

“Leny is a quick learner. He wants to excel and has a real interest in analysing different situations and understanding them, while putting himself under controlled pressure.

“The coach [Paulo Fonseca] has an extremely precise and rigorous game plan, in which talent is important but respect for instructions is just as important.

“When the coach and staff give him advice, he listens, absorbs and applies it. The same is true when he receives advice from his team-mates.”
