Jose Mourinho WANTS Man Utd return

Jose Mourinho is reportedly interested in returning to Manchester United amid Erik ten Hag’s struggles at Old Trafford.

The ex-Red Devils boss has been out of work since being sacked by Serie A giants AS Roma in January, and he has been heavily linked with taking over at Bayern Munich and Chelsea over the past few months.

However, Mourinho wants to return to Man Utd, five-and-a-half years after he was sacked by the club.

That is according to Manchester Evening News, who have reported that the former Red Devils manager has “told confidants he would walk to Manchester to manage United for a second time.”

Ten Hag faces an uncertain future at Old Trafford and the humiliating 4-0 defeat to Crystal Palace on Monday night has ramped up the pressure on the Dutchman.

Man Utd are currently eighth in the Premier League table and face the prospect of ending the season in their lowest finishing position since 1990. The Red Devils have also lost 18 games in all competitions so far this season, which is the most they have suffered in a single campaign for over 45 years.

What has Jose Mourinho said about Man Utd?

During an in-depth interview with The Telegraph in April, Mourinho discussed his time at Old Trafford, throwing shade at the club’s transfer policy in the process.

“My relationship with [former chief executive] Ed Woodward was good,” he admitted.

“Good as in the personal point of view. Even now we send an SMS. But from a professional point of view it was not the best. I am who I am. I am a football man.

“Ed comes from a different background and what Ten Hag has in his time at Manchester United I didn’t have. I didn’t have that level of support. I didn’t have that level of trust. So I left sad, because I felt I was in the beginning of the process.

“In some moments, I felt if they trusted me and believed in my experience things could be different.

“There are still a couple of players still there I didn’t want five or six years ago. I think they represent a little bit what I consider not the best professional profile to a club of a certain dimension.

“But I did my job there. Time always tells the truth. I would love Manchester United to succeed.”
